William Fevre Chablis

Had a bottle of William Fevre Chablis for the #Chardonnay event this week. I have to say that I really enjoyed this wine because it was just so different! I honestly am not much of a Chardonnay fan and was looking for something unoaked to try this time around. I was recommended to try this bottle by my local wine club and found it to be very intriguing – as promised!

– Light-bodied
Very minerally – almost chalky
– Not oaky or buttery at all
– Seemed more like Sauv. Blanc than Chardonnay
– Vines grown in oyster fossil terroir

The verdict: I couldn’t believe this bottle was made of 100% Chardonnay. The French definitely have a different terroir and style that I have to say I do prefer!
