Paraduxx’s Annual Lobstapalooza
by Julia Lawson

Julia Lawson is a fellow wine lover and photographer. After hearing about her experience at this members-only Paraduxx event, I shamelessly asked if she would share the story here – read on for her experience and check out her awesome pics too!

The words Lobster and New England go together like peanut butter and chocolate. So when Paraduxx Winery flies in 350 Maine Lobsters for a coastal style lobster broil you RSVP swiftly with a smiley face.

Greeted by the local winemakers (in nautical attire) you receive your personalized glass for the shindig as well as you lobstapalooza apron – yours to wear during the feast as well as to take home as a nice keepsake. The air is filled with live music, laughter and the sound of seven large pots boiling with water expecting soon to be filled with garlic, asparagus, corn, lemons and of course lobster. While you sample the free flowing stream of Goldeneye’s Vin Gris, Migration Chardonnay and Duckhorn’s Sauvignon Blanc you get to nibble on cheesy goodness from Dean & Deluca. Of course there was a variety of Paraduxx red vines to taste but at 90F I stuck with the lighter side of things.

Seated at one long table the lobster is heaped right in front of you and without superfluous fork or knives you dive in – lobsters first. Winemakers walk behind the guests to ensure no glass goes empty while the band is kicking it up a notch with reggae music.

Needless to say, fun was had by all and when the event wrapped up with fresh gelato it pretty much sealed the deal for next year…
